LISA HAND

Growing up with the bright colours and vibrancy of life in HK, and a taste for the arts  (Lisa has starred in many a dining room and kitchen production, notably ‘Where’s Frank?’ And ‘Jason Donovan is at the Door’), she has always had three loves: illustrating, writing, and koalas. She wrote and illustrated her first picture book aged 7 and first play at age 10, and her artistic journey has generally gone in a very wiggly path from there. After moving back to the countryside of the sunny midlands of England, Lisa went to Glasgow University, studied English Language and Literature and majored in Medieval English Literature, which she loved and would do all over again, but could never quite get rid of the habit of drawing all the time, everywhere, and making every single person hand-made cards with her illustrations on them. So, a while ago she decided to ignore all the advice she was given at school (that art is not a real job/you will be a starving artist… you know the) and pursue illustration, largely for children, but also loves doing greetings cards and surfaces pattern design. She would love to hear from you so feel free to give her a shout.
